I am a wife, a teacher, a friend and a NYC mom!  I have been a stay-at-home mom for a year and counting, learning a lot, and not just about raising a child.  On any given day you can find me cycling over the Manhattan Bridge during sunrise, reading a good book while Maddie and Cade nap, exploring and doing photography around the city on our many strolls, taking in a new exhibit or trying out a new café with friends.

One of my Loves – journaling!  Something I have done before I can remember, and has brought tons of enjoyment.  I love to capture memories and thoughts in writing, to self reflect on the day, and to have a place to just release, whatever it may be.   Through Riding NYC with Amy I hope to share things that are working for me and my family living in NYC, to share what I think about current topics, to share what I have read, heard or seen, and to someday share with Madison and Caden a little about me.  Just as I have experienced in reading old letters from my mother.  Her written words continue to inspire me and bring back so many wonderful memories.  I hope what I have to say also inspires you!

Please comment!  I would love to hear what you are thinking as well.

Hi Amy, checking out your site after the thoughtful comment you left me about one of my posts. My husband and I just got into biking, not anything longer than 6 miles yet but we just started, usually I’m a runner. One reason we started was because we’d be able to include our boys as they ride along in the back! I’ve been doing a little exploring around our area by bike and can’t wait to do more. :)

I have to hand it to you Heather, running is tough! I like biking since it’s easier on my feet and I can cover a lot of territory. And a 6 mile ride is a great start. I use to do the lap in Central Park, it’s 6 miles, and loved it! What a great way to include your boys. Enjoy your family rides!!
